New Report from 2017 Field Service USA: “Keeping Pace with Service Technology”18 Aug 2017
At Field Service USA in Palm Springs a few months ago, event host Worldwide Business Research (WBR) conducted an on-site survey of service industry leaders attending the event, to gauge how they’re overcoming challenges in their field operations.
After thoroughly analyzing all responses and conducting follow-up interviews with industry thought leaders, WBR released its 2017 Field Service USA Benchmark Report describing how mobile and the rise of big data are changing everything. A few key findings from the report follow:
- The majority of respondents report that they’re following a “mobile first” strategy. Read the report to learn what’s driving the move to mobile.
- A growing number of executives are moving away from single-platform solutions toward best-of-breed solutions that supplement their ERP platforms. Where is your organization in the process of migrating to a best-in-breed solution?
- Rolling out new field service solutions and managing the onboarding process can be overwhelming, pointing to the need for user-friendly, consumer-oriented solutions to shorten the learning curve. How well are your back office and field service teams handling the process?
- Transferring knowledge from seasoned technicians to new hires (and, increasingly, to third-party subcontractors) is essential for seamless delivery of service and customer satisfaction. What practices does your organization follow in managing knowledge transfer and adapting to changes in technology?
